Montgolfier Brothers

Montgolfier Brothers. Mejeriet, Lund 15/9/06

I first heard about the Montgolfier Brothers through the radio show P3 Pop (on Swedish national radio), where they are very hyped. They are a small, soft band (officially just two members, but they were three persons on stage this evening) who play beautiful pop songs with sweet melodies and good lyrics.

In some way, I had overrated the popularity of this band. I thought it was something all indie kids in Lund and Malmö would listen to. But there were not much more than 50 persons in the audience and they played at the small stage in the Cafeteria at Mejeriet. It's not a perfect environment for live music, as one can hear sms signals, people talking etc. very clear.

But The Montgolfier Brothers have very good songs, and that saved this extremely soft concert. In a better environment and with a somewhat larger audience it could have been a very good show. I really recommend their records, especially Seventeen Stars and All My Bad Thoughts, to anyone who like soft, brilliant pop songs. Rating:+++

I forgot to bring my camera to this concert :-(
